DIY Stick Deoderant

This is my second deodorant recipe on my blog. This one is suitable for use as a stick deodorant. The precious recipe, while it works great, was stored in a jar in my bathroom, and I applied it with my fingertips. With this new recipe, I achieved a consistency that works well with a stick applicator, which can be made using the applicator from a store-bought deodorant, previously purchased by yourself or a friend.

The recipe is simple, and it takes no time at all to make. The recipe below is the perfect amount to fill two standard stick deodorant containers. Not all of these containers are identical, so if you do have a little left over after filling your containers, you can pop it into a jar to use later to refill them.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  • Using a small double boiler, or, if you don’t have one, a small heatproof jug and pot, melt the coconut oil, she butter, and beeswax.
  • Remove from the heat and mix in the dry ingredients.
  • Finally, add in the essential oil.
  • Pour the mixture into the deodorant stick containers immediately and allow them to cool.

This is such an easy recipe. It will save you money and move you closer to self-sufficiency. It is also good for the environment, as you are reusing the plastic applicator, rather than purchasing a new one that ends up in the bin.

As always, live well.
